The Center for Offshore Safety, in accordance with 30 CFR 250.1922, is recognized as an Accreditation Body (AB) by the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) to accredit Audit Service Providers (ASPs) for the purpose of conducting Safety and Environmental Management Systems (SEMS) audits of offshore operators pursuant to 30 CFR 250 Subpart S. * If an organization has an asterisk, it means that it has been granted provisional accreditation by COS but has not yet completed a SEMS audit witnessed by COS. An ASP with Provisional Accreditation is authorized to conduct a SEMS audit pursuant to 30 CFR 250 Subpart S, but cannot issue SEMS certificates until successful completion of the required witness audit. An ASP with provisional accreditation has completed an application and successfully undergone a COS office assessment. Please contact COS if you have any questions.
