The Center for Offshore Safety, in accordance with 30 CFR 250.1922, is recognized as an Accreditation Body (AB) by the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) to accredit Audit Service Providers (ASPs) for the purpose of conducting Safety and Environmental Management Systems (SEMS) audits of offshore operators pursuant to 30 CFR 250 Subpart S. *Accreditation is granted for a 3-year period. Audit Service Providers (ASP) that wish to continue providing SEMS audits must re-apply to COS, and successfully complete both an office assessment of their program and a witness assessment  by COS of them conducting a SEMS audit. ASP that are in the process of being re-accredited are indicated with an *. They retain their accreditation and may continue providing SEMS audits and issuing certificates beyond the indicated expiration date during the re-accreditation period. If an ASP decides not to continue pursuing re-accreditation or COS suspends their accreditation, the asterisk will be removed, and other information will indicate that they may no longer present themselves as accredited or conduct SEMS audits.
